If you like lakes and you're in this part of Colorado you can check out Piute Reservoir. At Piute Reservoir you don’t see much rainfall; August is the month that gets the most rain; the driest month is June. This lake is so wonderful. Skiing at Powderhorn is one of those things you just must do; get yourself into a kayak and hit Kannah Creek. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Escalante Breaks. While you're here at Piute Reservoir you can take a hike along the Bowdish Trail, and if you come at the right time of year, Kannah Creek offers some glorious whitewater. This lake is so wonderful. try to stop me, cause I'm havin' a tremendous time here at Piute Reservoir. White Sage Draw is a great place to spend some time at, and you're sure to bump into some wonderful people from Grand Junction here. Castle Rock can be made
out from Piute Reservoir; after a long day outdoors Wine Country Inn is a tremendous spot to spend a night or two. All the outdoors fun stuff in the Escalante Breaks will keep you coming back many times. A fine site to camp here at
Piute Reservoir is Grand Junction/Clifton KOA, and you can have a wonderful hiking adventure along the Spruce Point Trail.
