All through the warm months at Petes Lake temperatures are mostly in the 80's, and through the night it cools down to the 50's. The wintertime brings highs down to the 40's with temperatures at Petes Lake dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. It is very dehydrated here at Petes Lake typically; most of the rain falls throughout August, and January is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful.       Raton RV Park is a great campground here; do stop at Dry Creek if you're here at Petes Lake. While staying at Petes Lake you could always look at Medina Canyon; if you came for an overnight stay SummerLan RV Park is a great place to camp. All year is a great time in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains if you love the outdoors. Dry warm beds await you at Raton Super 8 Motel; the vistas at Capulin Volcano National Monument will blow your mind. Life's too short to                  enjoy all the fun stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. Strasia Meadow is a delightful site any time of year, and Budget Host Raton is a magnificent spot to get some rest. So much cool stuff to do at Petes Lake, so little time. It's always great to go to Dick Messer Spring, and needless to say, this is a good region for folks who like lakes, Lake in the Hole is a lake in close proximity.
