Go to Paxton Reservoir if you want to go to a nice lake. Now, you may think that's loads but there's even more fun stuff to do here at Paxton Reservoir. The beauty of mother nature reveals herself at Johnson Spring; tremendous hiking is available along the Dry Creek Trail. Paxton Reservoir gets very little rainfall; the month with most of the rain is July while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. Here at Paxton

There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. If you come at the right time of year, Uncompahgre River offers some splendid whitewater; there are great locations to look at along the Spring Creek Trail. during the warmest time of the year are in the 90's; the nighttime is rather cooler of course, regularly in the 50's. Highs through the wintertime are usually in the 30's; through the dark hours in the winter at Paxton Reservoir temperatures
dip to the 10's.
Whitewater paddling is not for everyone but if it's for you then we recommend San Miguel River, and if you need a spot to stay Holiday Inn Express Hotel & Suites Montrose-Townsend, Co is a great choice. Paxton
Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. So much amusing stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, not enough time. Camping is available at The Hanging Tree RV Park, and what would winter be without
some skiing at Telluride.
This lake is so wonderful. At Paxton Dam near Paxton Reservoir there are some exciting things to see, and why not camp at Hangin Tree RV while you're here at Paxton Reservoir.
