If you are in El Paso county it's always a good idea to stop by Patty Jewett Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a nice close by course is Antler Creek Golf Course, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Penrose Trail. There's so much to do here at Patty Jewett Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Foot of the Rockies RV Resort and Storage is a tremendous site for that, and if you're visiting from Colorado Springs,

National Monument is a national park worth stopping at. At Patty Jewett Reservoir you don’t see much precipitation; July is when you get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is January. Dry warm beds await you at Apollo Park Executive Suites; there is a great hiking trail nearby called the Waldo Canyon Trail.
