you can always go whitewater paddling on Willow Creek, and Teller City Campground is a fine local campground.
Cache La Poudre River has a pleasant whitewater paddling spot close by, and if the weather is lovely, you get a good
sight of Bowen Mountain from Parika Lake. Nearby Bowen Pass is a fine spot to go if you're at Parika Lake; wonderful hiking is available along the Mineral Point Trail. Parika Lake is frequently a pretty dried out place; the month
of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and January is when it's the driest.
If you need a place to stay Gateway Inn Restaurant Cnf Ctr is a delightful choice; there are other spots here than Parika Lake, for example Blue Lake.
