Long Draw Reservoir
13 miles away A very nice place to go camping, hiking and fishing. The reservoir has an astonishing breathtaking view, nothing like I have ever seen before, yes that beautiful! We went the weekend of July 10th, 2009 the weather during the day is very nice and sunny avg. temp about 75 degrees, the nights however are very cold, dipping into the low 40's and 30's, so be prepared for that, we came with too little of blankets and learned that to be a big mistake. Long draw is located about 15 mi. inland from Hwy 14 just past Chambers, driving into the reservoir looks deceitful because it seems as though you are traveling into the thick of the forest with nothing but trees around, but be patient 15 mi. in you will discover the camp ground, enjoy!...
Tunnel Campground
16 miles away This has been a favorite vacation/relaxation spot for my family for many years. The popularity has grown and the campground is very busy during the summer months on weekends. There is great stream and lake fishing nearby, plenty of trails for hiking and an evening drive to Long Draw Reservoir is guaranteed to provide sightings of elk and moose. ...
Watanga Lake
18 miles away We hiked up to Wantaga Lake from the Roaring Fork Trailhead on July 27, 2006. This is a steep trail with lots of switchbacks and stream crossings. It took us 3 hours to get to the lake and 2 to get back down. Bear and elk scat were on the trail and loads of different species of mushrooms and flowers. I recommend you take treking poles, mosquitoe repellent, food and lots of water. The lake is beautiful and is loaded with cutthroat trout! Enjoy! ...

Ypsilon Lake
19 miles away It's true. This lake is incredible for fishing probably because it is little fished. Beetle Spins not so good for us but Rooster Tails and Yo-Zuri Pin's minnow 2'' Rainbow Trout colored did the trick. Four of us went here July '09. The hike was long but worth it. Accompanied by a late morning start, it rained off and on so we didn't get to fish as much as we wanted plus the altitude got to one of us pretty badly. We're lowlanders from the South. A couple of extra-strength Tylenol, he was up and around in an hour or so. Next time we'll camp at Upper Chipmunk and each eat our fill of Trout each day. Awesome adventure!...
