     A wonderful lake like Aspaas Lake in close proximity to Papoose Lake is a magnificent place to take a look at, and a splendid nearby hotel is Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel. Papoose Lake gets a common amount of rainfall; the month with most of the rain is August while June is generally the driest month. So many exciting things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, not enough time. Cascade Creek is a nice local stream, and there's always Lake of the  
   Pines Dam to explore next to Papoose Lake.
There's no way anybody can get bored here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Going for a hike along the Highline Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area; if you need a place to stay Purgatory Lodge by Durango Mountain Resorts is a brilliant choice. That right there is a lot already, but it goes on; Papoose Lake has it all. A day on the slopes of Kendall Mountain is just what you need, and lakes
 
               are such peaceful locations, why not visit Ignacio Lake. This is no place for people who don’t like to have fun.
At Papoose Lake through the summer months highs are in the 70's. Throughout the moonlight hours it's regularly in the 30's. High temperatures during the wintertime are normally in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Papoose Lake. Whitewater paddling is perfect on Animas River, and on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Goodhope Stock Driveway. Papoose Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains.
This lake is so wonderful. Here at Papoose Lake there are plenty of people from Durango, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Circle Trail. Get dripping wet paddling on Canyon Creek, and camping is available at Haviland Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Purgatory Campground is always a wonderful experience, and why not head up to Silverton and strap some skis to your feet.
