For the duration of the months of summer highs here at Paonia Reservoir get into the 70's. Once the sun is down it falls down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are mostly in the 30's, and nighttime lows through the winter for Paonia Reservoir tend to be in the-10's. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Sunlight Mountain       Inn. This lake is so wonderful. There are other locations here than Paonia Reservoir, for example Williams Creek Lake, and Paonia Reservoir is great enough to spend more than a day at, McClure Campground is a great local campground. Tomahawk Reservoir is a magnificent lake in the neighborhood of Paonia Reservoir, and some of the water close by flows, like Anthracite Creek. Not far from Paonia Reservoir you obtain some fine water scenery at Paonia Dam, and in                  case you don’t mind getting drenched, you can always go whitewater paddling on Gunnison River - North Fork. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Hammond Trail. There's so much to do here at Paonia Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Camp Id-Ra-Ha-Je West is a delightful place for that. And that's not all you can do here at Paonia Reservoir. Take a hike on the Sunset Trail, and Anthracite Creek - Ruby Fork has a delightful whitewater paddling spot close by.
