Sure, Road Reservoir is just a very short distance away. The Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. Camping is available at Miramonte Reservoir Campground, and the nice people of Montrose like to hang out nearby. This lake is so wonderful. The Telephone Draw Trail is a great hiking       trail close to Palmers Lake. Get yourself into a kayak and hit San Miguel River, and a great vista of picturesque Wrights Mesa is available. For the duration of the summertime at Palmers Lake highs are usually in the 80's; through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while Palmers Lake nighttime low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the                  fun stuff in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. If the weather is good here at Palmers Lake, you can go for a hike along the Horsefly Trail; dry warm beds await you at Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge. Palmers Lake gets very little precipitation; the month of July is the wettest with most of the rain; February is when it's the driest. What a place this is for outdoors folks. Near Palmers Lake you hit upon the Cottonwood Trail which is a great hiking trail, and a magnificent place to stop by close by is Logging Camp Draw. That right there is a load of enjoyable stuff already but it goes on, the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has it all.
