    If you are in Montrose county it's always a good idea to stop by Palmers Lake. All through the summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Palmers Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Palmers Lake temperatures dip to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Horsefly Trail is always a pleasant adventure,  
   and San Miguel River is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. And if that's not enough there's a load more fun things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. You can run the rapids of San Miguel River close to Palmers Lake, and you can stay the night at Miramonte Reservoir Campground.
A journey to Logging Camp Draw is always fun. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Palmers Lake has to offer, you can camp at Antone Spring Campground. This lake
 
               is one of the great places here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Palmers Lake gets very little precipitation; July is the wettest month with most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation.
Now, you may imagine that's lots but there's even more exciting stuff to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. After a long day outdoors Mountain Lodge At Telluride is a good location to spend a night or two. You clearly must go for Palmers Lake. Go for a hike on the Cottonwood Trail, and Palmers Lake is not far at all from Montrose. There are wonderful places to look at along the Telephone Draw Trail, and the peak of Wrights Mesa can be seen from Palmers Lake.
