If you are in Montrose county it's always a good idea to stop by Palmers Lake. All through the summer, highs generally are in the 80's at Palmers Lake. All through the dark hours of summer temperatures sink down into the 40's. Daytime highs throughout the wintertime are in the 30's, and through the dark hours in the winter at Palmers Lake temperatures dip to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Horsefly Trail is always a pleasant adventure,

| | and San Miguel River is a perfect whitewater spot nearby. And if that's not enough there's a load more fun things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. You can run the rapids of San Miguel River close to Palmers Lake, and you can stay the night at Miramonte Reservoir Campground.

for Palmers Lake. Go for a hike on the Cottonwood Trail, and Palmers Lake is not far at all from Montrose. There are wonderful places to look at along the Telephone Draw Trail, and the peak of Wrights Mesa can be seen from Palmers Lake.
