If you came for an overnight stay Grand Junction/Clifton KOA is a great place to camp; a fine nearby hotel is Best Western Clifton Inn. Nearby Coal Canyon is a splendid place to go if you're at Palisade Reservoir Number 1, and folks from Grand Junction love to come here. During the summer at Palisade Reservoir Number 1 temperatures are regularly in the 90's. For the period of the dark       hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 60's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 10's to Palisade Reservoir Number 1. This lake is so wonderful. Near Palisade Reservoir Number 1 you come across the West Bench Trail which is a great hiking trail, and if you need a site to stay Wine Country Inn is a wonderful choice. There is a nice hiking trail near Palisade Reservoir Number 1 called the Spring Camp                  Trail; there's whitewater on Kannah Creek for all you adrenaline people. Not much rainfall falls here at Palisade Reservoir Number 1; October is when you get the most rain here, and February on the other hand is the driest. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. On a great day at Palisade Reservoir Number 1 you can take a hike along the Whitewater Basin Trail, and let's not forget Cottonwood Creek which is a stream that you may come across while you're here. Bailey Point is an exciting location to pop by while at Palisade Reservoir Number 1, and skiing at Powderhorn is one of those things you just have to do. This lake is so wonderful.
