If you like skiing, you're in luck; Powderhorn is close to Palisade Cabin Reservoir, and do visit Palisade Reservoir Number 1, it's a wonderful lake. This lake is so wonderful. The Whitewater Basin Trail is a delightful hiking trail close to Palisade Cabin Reservoir, and if you need a place to stay       Wine Country Inn is a delightful choice. Going for a hike on the West Bench Trail is always a glorious adventure; Kruzen Spring is a great local attraction. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Kannah Creek, and a tremendous close by hotel is Best Western Clifton Inn. If you come at the right time of year, Kannah Creek offers some glorious whitewater; you don’t have to go far from Palisade Cabin Reservoir to spot the water at Palisade                  Cabin Dam. Palisade Cabin Reservoir is a location that is quite dried out frequently; October is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest month of the year is January. The Blowout is a good spot to pop by nearby; Grand Junction/Clifton Campground is a good campground nearby. This is a popular site for folks from Grand Junction. High temperatures at Palisade Cabin Reservoir through the summertime months are in the 90's, and during the night it cools down to the 60's.
