Pagosa Reservoir is always a pleasure to visit. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 80's to Pagosa Reservoir, and throughout the night it cools down to the 40's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 30's; winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Pagosa Reservoir. There's always Pagosa Dam to go to next to Pagosa Reservoir, and if the weather is delightful, you get a tremendous view of Jackson Mountain from Pagosa Reservoir. Pagosa

Wolf Creek is just what you need. The Rainbow Trail is a perfect hiking trail in the vicinity of Pagosa Reservoir; why not a little side trip to Fourmile Creek. This lake is so wonderful. While you're here at Pagosa Reservoir
you can play some golf at Pagosa Springs Golf Club, and there's whitewater on San Juan River for all you adrenaline kick people. This lake is so wonderful. There is a perfect hiking trail near Pagosa Reservoir called the Fourmile
Stock Trail. You'll need more than a day to look at everything Pagosa Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at San Juan Trailer Park and Motel. Pagosa Reservoir gets very little precipitation; most of the rain falls through August;
June meanwhile is the driest month. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do near Pagosa Reservoir. Get your pulse rate up on the good whitewater of San Juan River, and do go to Stevens Reservoir, it's a pretty lake.
There's no way anybody can get bored here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Oak Ridge Lodge is a brilliant place to get some rest, and close by you discover Dry Gulch which is a tremendous place to take a look at. Near Pagosa Reservoir
you find the Martinez Creek Trail which is a brilliant hiking trail, and a beautiful lake like Echo Canyon Reservoir is a pleasant spot to go to.

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

San Juan River - East Fork
 | I am a very close relative of the land owners for a significant portion of the East Fork. There is a couple of miles of river that is private land. Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts.  | 17 miles away I was raised near this lake and when a child we had to pack horses into this lake. It is not near any campgrounds, and it's over 25 miles to town, not 18. It gets way colder than 0 in the winter but the views are almost correct. It IS beautiful!... |
