Going for a hike on the Black Hills Trail is always a pleasant adventure, and a fine place is Poison Canyon. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Peaks Trail, and Owens Reservoir Number 2 is a glorious place to visit for more than one day, Circle The wagons RV Park is a glorious place to camp nearby. Owens Reservoir Number 2 is pretty dried out typically;                  August is the wettest month with most rain while January is commonly the driest month. Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever want to go back home again. If you need a spot to stay Knights Inn Walensburg is a great choice, and Indian Creek is near Owens Reservoir Number 2 and is always a diversion to check out. This lake is so wonderful. All through the long summer days highs here at Owens Reservoir Number 2 get into the 80's; the nighttime is fairly cooler of course, regularly in the 50's.
