I was raised near this lake and when a child we had to pack horses into this lake. It is not near any campgrounds, and it's over 25 miles to town, not 18. It gets way colder than 0 in the winter but the views are almost correct. It IS beautiful! Says Steve Hudson
This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. The close by category II, 20-mile-from-beginning-to-end Chromo Colorado to Colorado Border portion of whitewater on Navajo
River is a load of fun. By and large this segment of Navajo River is not a demanding place for whitewater boating. Raft paddling could get hazardous, so check the situation before you go.
