Onion Valley Dam is worth visiting since you're here. Lakes are good; Gould Reservoir is a lake that's near Onion Valley Reservoir. Onion Valley Reservoir is a location that is rather dry mostly; the month of October is the wettest with most of the rain, and June is when it's the driest. This lake is so wonderful. paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend Gunnison River. Through the summer here at Onion Valley Reservoir, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's with overnight lows in the 50's. Highs through the winter
are ordinarily in the 30's with temperatures at Onion Valley Reservoir dipping down into the 10's through winter nights. After a long day outdoors Rodeway Inn Montrose is a pleasant place to spend a night or two; Onion Valley Reservoir is good enough to spend more than a day at, Crawford is a good local campground.
