A visit to Olsen Lake is always a good idea. This lake is so wonderful. You can run the rapids of Cross Creek next to Olsen Lake; dry warm beds await you at Park Hyatt Beaver Creek Resort And Spa. Get your heart pumping on the good whitewater of Eagle River, and brilliant skiing awaits you at Vail. This lake is so wonderful. There's splendid hiking along the Nottingham Ridge Trail, and you can never get enough of the delightful skiing at Beaver Creek. While

| | you're here at Olsen Lake you will meet lots of people from close by Edwards; you can go for a hike on the Half Moon Trail. A splendid place to camp here at Olsen Lake is Gold Park Campground, and if you've had enough of Olsen Lake, Waterdog Lake is close by. It is very arid here at Olsen Lake frequently; July is the month that gets the most rain while February is generally the driest month. summer days here at Olsen Lake, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's while night lows are ordinarily in the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 30's; throughout the dark hours in the winter at Olsen Lake temperatures fall to the 0's.

I would highly recommend this hike. Make sure you have everything you need for AT LEAST 2 days. The hike to Upper Piney will take 8 hours (all up hill)...But only 4 hours to get back to Piney River Ranch.... |

LEDE Reservoir
 | 19 miles away Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir. We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection. After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests. A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir. It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well. We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum.... |
