So much amusing stuff to do here at Oat Lake, too tremendous to be true. Some of the water close by flows, like Sand Creek, and going for a hike on the South Derby Trail is always a fine adventure. Why not go to Sheriff Dam while you're here. There's so much to do here at Oat Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Baughn Lake Campground is a tremendous place for that. During the warm months       here at Oat Lake, high temperatures mostly reach the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures dip down into the 40's. During the winter highs are in the 20's with temperatures at Oat Lake dipping down into the 0's through winter nights. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Oak Creek Motel, and Oat Lake is great enough to spend more than a day at, Bucks Campground is a great local campground. It is very dried up here at Oat Lake generally;                  the month of March is the wettest with most of the snow, and June meanwhile is the driest month. There are good places to discover along the High Trail. Near Oat Lake you find the Ute Trail which is a wonderful hiking trail, and Camel Lake is a nearby lake that you could visit.
