The beauty of O'Connell Lake is reason enough to stop by. You assume that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Going for a hike on the Piedra Stock Trail is always a wonderful adventure, and O'Neal Park is a gorgeous site any time of year. This lake is so wonderful. Sportsman's Supply C.G. and Cabins is a tremendous campground here, and Gordon Creek is one of the streams nearby that might be worth taking a look at. If you want a great time in the great outdoors

| | just come on up to the San Juan Mountains. If you came for an overnight stay Upper Piedra Campground is a fine place to camp, and you acquire a tremendous view of Corral Mountain from here. Around O'Connell Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; the wettest month of the year is commonly July, that's the one that rains the most; June is when it's the driest. you need; there's whitewater on Piedra River for all you adrenaline people. After a long day outdoors Fairfield Pagosa Resort is a brilliant place to spend a night or two, and Sally Overlook is an interesting spot to take a look at
while at O'Connell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Keyah Grande Resort is a good location to get some rest, and you can go for a hike on the Fourmile Stock Trail. During the summertime months here at O'Connell Lake, high temperatures
mostly reach the 70's. Summer nighttime lows plunge down to the 30's. All through the winter highs are in the 20's while O'Connell Lake nighttime low temperatures through the wintertime are in the-10's.
