    Beautiful O'Connell Lake has much to offer visitors. O'Connell Lake is pretty waterless frequently; July is the wettest month with most rain; the driest month is June. And if that's not enough, there's a load more to do in the neighborhood of O'Connell Lake. There's whitewater on Piedra River for all you thrill seekers, and get your heart beating on the brilliant whitewater of San Juan River.
All the outdoors enjoyable things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains
 
   will keep you coming back repeatedly. Sally Overlook is an interesting thing to distinguish if you're here at O'Connell Lake, and a great close by hotel is Fairfield Pagosa Resort. O'Connell Lake is not the only place nearby, Trail Ridge Reservoir is a nearby lake, and Corral Mountain is clearly visible from O'Connell Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Upper Piedra Campground, and Wolf Creek is a good local ski area.

               If you're here at O'Connell Lake, you could go to Gordon Creek; hiking is a popular thing to do around O'Connell Lake; Fourmile Stock Trail is a perfect local trail. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. If only every place had this much outdoors amusing stuff, what a great world it would be. A journey to O'Neal Park invigorates the spirit, unsurprisingly you could also visit Dunnagan Reservoir since you're here; it's not far at all.
There's great hiking along the Piedra Stock Trail; if you need a place to stay Keyah Grande Resort is a great choice. Summer at O'Connell Lake comes with high temperatures in the 70's with nighttime lows in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and night lows through the winter for O'Connell Lake tend to be in the-10's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Good hiking is available along the Middle Mountain Trail. There's so much to do here at O'Connell Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Sportsman Supply & Campground is a splendid spot for that.
