Don't leave O Y E Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Salt Creek Trail. Lakes? Sure, Antero Reservoir is in the vicinity. Why not camp at Buena Vista KOA while you're here at O Y E Reservoir, and a brilliant place is Deer Gulch. It is very waterless here at O Y E Reservoir generally; August is when you get the most rain       here; the driest month is January. This lake is so wonderful. Go for a hike on the Ute Trail, and get soaked paddling on Arkansas River. Be careful coming to O Y E Reservoir, you might not ever wanna go home again. There are other locations here than O Y E Reservoir, for example Buffalo Creek Reservoir, and dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Buena Vista. The warmest time of the year brings highs in the 70's to O Y E Reservoir. When the night sets in temperatures                  drop down into the 30's.
