About half of it is single track that weaves gradually in and out of coves on the North side of the lake. The south side has a couple good climbs. The rest of the ride is on the roads (Ridge Trail), which offers some nice views of the Peak and glimpses of South Catamount. The best access, in my opinion, is from the Catamount entrance at the end of Edlow Road (Past Woodland Park about 3 miles). I can't stop, cause I'm havin' a great time here at North Catamount Reservoir. If time allows, Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a national park worth going to; North Catamount Reservoir is perfect enough to spend more than a day at, Rocky Top Motel and Campground is a perfect local campground. You truly must have a thing about the Front Range. Going for a hike on the       Schubarth Trail is always a great adventure; if you've had enough of North Catamount Reservoir, South Catamount Reservoir is close by. For the period of the summer, highs commonly are in the 80's at North Catamount Reservoir. Throughout the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 40's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to North Catamount Reservoir. North Catamount Reservoir                  gets very little rain; the wettest month of the year is commonly July, that's the one that rains the most; the driest of the months is January. This lake is so wonderful. You're possibly hooked on lakes, Woodland Park Reservoir is one of those nearby, and Country Lodge is a nice location to get some rest. Man, is there a load of exciting things to do in the Front Range. You'll meet a lot of folks from Colorado Springs here, and while you're here and you like golf, you can have a look at Shining Mountain Golf Club. Getting to North Catamount Creek from North Catamount Reservoir is painless; after a long day outdoors The Cliff House Hotel at Pikes Peak is a great site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. A great location to camp here at North Catamount Reservoir is Coachlite Motel and RV Park, and there are wonderful places to look at along the Waldo Canyon Trail. The Front Range scenery is always beautiful.
