Nicholson Lake is right by the Granite Basin Trail, and a day on the slopes of Aspen Highlands is just what you need. The snow is pleasant at Irwin Lodge, and hey, Oh-be-joyful Creek       is a wonderful local stream. Not far from Nicholson Lake, you'll find Peanut Lake which is a pretty lake; Nicholson Lake is a great place to visit for more than one day, Crested Butte Mountain Resort is a great place to camp nearby. Stay the night at Avery Peak Campground; a good place like Coon Basin here at Nicholson Lake is too great to miss. You truly have to fancy Nicholson Lake. Paddling on East River is so much fun; Lake Brennand Dam is a site that                  is close to Nicholson Lake. There are other spots here than Nicholson Lake, for example Lake Grant, and Elevation Hotel & Spa is a great location to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful. During the days of summer at Nicholson Lake temperatures are frequently in the 70's while overnight lows are mostly in the 40's.
