If you are in El Paso county it's always a good idea to stop by Nichols Reservoir. Nichols Reservoir is a beautiful lake in the Front Range. A nice place to visit close to Nichols Reservoir is Wildcat Gulch, and don't leave Nichols Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Schubarth Trail. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Front Range. The summit of Devils Kitchen can be seen from Nichols Reservoir; nice hiking is available along the Stanley Canyon

Summer at Nichols Reservoir arrives with high temperatures in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the winter are in the 40's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Nichols Reservoir. It is very dried up here at Nichols Reservoir mostly; July is when you get the most rain here; January is when it's the driest. You just should go for Nichols Reservoir. This lake is so wonderful. A charming lake like Northfield Number 4 Reservoir in the vicinity of Nichols Reservoir is a pleasant site to explore.
After a long day outdoors Best Value Inn Villa Motel is a good place to spend a night or two; camping at Nichols Reservoir is perfect fun, Lone Duck Campground is a perfect local campground. All the outdoors entertaining stuff in
the Front Range will keep you coming back persistently. If you came for an overnight stay Promontory Campground is a pleasant place to camp; if you're here you will meet lots of people from nearby Colorado Springs.
This lake is
so wonderful. There's some attention-grabbing stuff to see at Nichols Dam in the vicinity of Nichols Reservoir; hiking is a popular thing to do around Nichols Reservoir; Waldo Canyon Trail is a wonderful local trail.
