Go to Nelson Reservoir if you want to go to a nice lake. If only every place had this much outdoors cool stuff, what a great globe it would be. This lake is so wonderful. Camping at Nelson Reservoir is pleasant fun, Cayton Campground is a pleasant local campground, and here at Nelson Reservoir you can spot Dunn Peak. For the period of the summer months, highs regularly are in the 80's at Nelson Reservoir; all through summer nights temperatures are in the 40's. the wintertime are in the 0's. A pleasant site for whitewater paddling close to Nelson Reservoir is San Miguel River, and don't leave Nelson Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Fish Creek Trail.
There are fine spots to look at along the Ground Hog Stock Driveway, and Dolores River is a wonderful whitewater spot close by.
