Throughout the long summer days at Nelson Reservoir highs are typically in the 80's. When the night sets in temperatures descend down into the 40's. If you have a thing about the outdoors, you'll fancy Nelson Reservoir. Take a hike on the Groundhog Stock Driveway, and camping at Burro Bridge Campground is always a pleasant experience. Nelson Reservoir is pretty dried out mostly; July is when you get the most rain here, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. A nice location for whitewater paddling near Nelson Reservoir is Dolores River, and if you get bored of Nelson Reservoir you could also stop by nearby Divide Reservoir.
