There are some good whitewater spots on Big Thompson River; going for a hike along the Wintersteen Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region. This lake is so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Cache La Poudre River; while you're here you can take a hike along the Round Mountain Trail. the 50's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 40's, and overnight lows throughout the wintertime for Nelson Reservoir tend to be in the 10's. This is a great region for folks who like lakes. Sherwood Reservoir is a
lake close by, and don't forget to take a fine little journey to Dry Creek. But wait, there's more to do near Nelson Reservoir. Near Nelson Reservoir you discover a golf course called Fort Collins Country Club Golf; not far from Nelson
