This lake is located in the wonderful Medicine Bow Mountains. Dry warm beds await you at Fawn Valley Inn, and Nakomis Lake Dam is a beautiful place, definitely worth stopping at. And that's not everything you can do here in the Medicine Bow Mountains. A tremendous location for whitewater paddling near       Nakomis Lake is Cache La Poudre River - North Fork, and a quick journey to Columbine Creek is undeniably a wonderful idea. Just can't get enough of the Medicine Bow Mountains. On a good day at Nakomis Lake you can take a hike along the North Lone Pine Trail. Lakes are great; Lake Nokomis is a lake that's right next door to Nakomis Lake. This site is peerless, just look at all the cool things to do next to Nakomis Lake. Near Nakomis Lake you find Columbine Canyon                  which is a glorious place to check out; since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always explore nearby Apache Lake. If you came to camp Dowdy Lake - Arapaho National Forest is a glorious location to do that, and the Killpecker Trail is a good hiking trail nearby. This lake is so wonderful. If you want to play some golf, you're in luck because Fox Acres Country Club is in close proximity. There's so much to do here at Nakomis Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Creedmore Lakes Campground is a nice place for that. This lake is so wonderful. Get your heart beating on the great whitewater of Cache La Poudre River, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Swamp Creek Cutoff Trail. At Nakomis Lake during the summertime highs are in the 80's, and the night is somewhat colder of course, regularly in the 40's.
