Mystic Island Lake is always a pleasure to visit. This lake is so wonderful. Lots of folks from Edwards come to Mystic Island Lake, and a tremendous place for whitewater paddling is Eagle River. You'll wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the cool stuff at Mystic Island Lake. Mystic Island Lake is one of the lakes here in the Sawatch Range. For the period of the warm months here at Mystic Island Lake, high temperatures regularly get into the 80's.

| | All through the moonlight hours it's frequently in the 40's. The winter brings highs down to the 30's; during the dark hours in the wintertime at Mystic Island Lake temperatures descend to the 0's. You can run the rapids of Fryingpan River close to Mystic Island Lake; there's brilliant hiking along the Ironedge Trail. So many fun things to do in the Sawatch Range, not enough time. stay Fulford Cave Campground is a brilliant site to camp. There's no way anyone can get bored here in the Sawatch Range. Head up to Beaver Creek and strap some skis to your feet, and if you need a location to stay Hyatt Mountain
Lodge is a good choice. This lake is so wonderful. Halfmoon Lake is a nearby lake that you could have a look at, and the Last Chance Trail offers hiking at its best. Don't leave Mystic Island Lake without first going for a hike along
the Lake Charles Trail, and the snow is perfect at Vail. Mystic Island Lake gets very little precipitation; the month with most of the rain is July, and the driest month of the year is February. If you want a brilliant time in
the great outdoors, just come on down to Mystic Island Lake. Eagle Peak is a peak you can see from Mystic Island Lake, and Elk Wallow Campground is a wonderful campground nearby. Don’t forget to have a look at Negro Basin since you're here at Mystic Island Lake, and while you're here, you could also pop by pretty Lake Charles.

LEDE Reservoir
 | 12 miles away Beautiful drive up to Lede Reservoir. We started in Eagle and took Sylvan Lake road all the way past the lake and then took a right at the first intersection. After climbing up and around the peak in front of us we were upon some huge rolling meadows that were among the forrests. A slight drop down into the valley on the west side of the mountains and a left turn lead us to the reservoir. It is a great spot with some fishing paths around the water and a number of campsites as well. We continued west to Gypsum Creek Road and a short drive back to the town of Gypsum.... |
