Going for a hike along the Last Chance Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this region; if you need a place to stay Hyatt Mountain Lodge is a nice choice. Just can't get enough of Mystic Island Lake. Stay the night at Elk Wallow Campground, and you're almost certainly keen on lakes, Halfmoon Lake is one of those nearby. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Lake Charles Trail is glorious       fun, and Fulford Cave Campground is a great campground nearby. You'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Beaver Creek while you're here, and you can have a fine hiking adventure along the Ironedge Trail. So many enjoyable things in the Sawatch Range, just unbelievable. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Fryingpan River; The Pines Lodge is a great place to get some rest. Negro Basin is a nice place to                  check out; possibly you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Lake Charles is just a very short distance away. High temperatures at Mystic Island Lake during the months of summer are in the 80's with overnight lows in the 40's. For the period of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at Mystic Island Lake. So many enjoyable things to do at Mystic Island Lake, so little time. Mystic Island Lake is pretty dry regularly; most of the rain falls during July, and February is the month with the least moisture. Life's too short to enjoy all the cool stuff in the Sawatch Range. Lots of people from Edwards come to Mystic Island Lake, and at Mystic Island Lake you can make out Eagle Peak. This lake is so wonderful.
