Be careful coming to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains, you might not ever want to return home again. Visiting Great Sand Dunes National Monument is just something you need to do if you haven't yet. This lake is so wonderful. The Cascade Trail is a tremendous hiking trail in the neighborhood of Murray Reservoir, and since you might be in a lake visiting mood you can always have a look       at close by McKinley Reservoir. This is no site for people who don’t like to have fun. Lakes? Sure, Creager Reservoir is close at hand, and going for a hike on the Horse Ranch Trail is always a good adventure. The Sangre De Cristo Mountains scenery is always beautiful. At Murray Reservoir you don’t see much precipitation; August is when you get the most rain here while January is generally the driest month. Watkins Gulch is a pleasant place to check out nearby,                  and camping is available at Pinyon Flats Campground. Yeah, come up here to the Sangre De Cristo Mountains for a great time. A quick visit to South Bruff Creek near Murray Reservoir is a great idea; if you came for an overnight stay Cross D Bar Trout Ranch is a glorious place to camp. Creager Dam is not far at all from Murray Reservoir; close by you discover the Music Pass Trail which is a great hiking trail. At Murray Reservoir during the long summer days highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it sinks down to the 40's.
