A cool spot to explore near Murphy Lake is Hayden Spire; the best way to spend a winter day is on the slopes of nearby Berthoud Pass. While staying at Murphy Lake you could always discover Sprague Pass; get your pulse rate up on the tremendous whitewater of Joe Wright Creek. Murphy Lake is a location that is quite dried out generally; through the month of August you get the most rain around here while       November is usually the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Ptarmigan Creek is a magnificent local stream, and SolVista is a very popular ski area in the vicinity. A tour to Murphy Lake wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Granite Falls. There's so much to do here at Murphy Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Elk Creek Campground and RV Park is a pleasant location for that. Yep, outdoors fun stuff truly is bountiful here in the Front                  Range. Inn At Grand Lake, The is a glorious site to get some rest, and needless to say, this is a great vicinity for people who like lakes, Snowdrift Lake is a lake close at hand. Throughout the summer months here at Murphy Lake, high temperatures generally get into the 70's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 30's. For the period of the wintertime the highs are typically in the 30's, and after the sun is down through the wintertime temperatures at Murphy Lake fall into the 0's. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Front Range. Going for a hike along the North Inlet Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this area, and you can stay the night at Harbison Campground. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Cache La Poudre River, and you acquire a fine vista of Snowdrift Peak from here. This lake is so wonderful. The Lake Nanita Trail is a glorious hiking trail in close proximity to Murphy Lake, and while you're here you can play some golf at Grand Lake Golf Course. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. This lake is so wonderful. So many fun things to do in the Front Range, not enough time.
