Just can't get enough of Mud Lake. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mud Lake; Fish Creek Trail is a fine local trail, and on a beautiful day you obtain a tremendous view of North Mountain from Mud Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Around Mud Lake you don’t get a lot of rainfall; during the month of October you       get the most rain around here, and June is the month with the least moisture. This lake is so wonderful. Do stop by Bull Lake in close proximity to Mud Lake, it's a beautiful lake, and Mavreeso Campground is a magnificent campground nearby. While you're here at Mud Lake, you could also pop by picturesque Jensen Lake; if you come at the right time of year, San Miguel River offers some brilliant whitewater. There's great hiking along the Stoner Stock Trail, and                  whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then, we recommend San Miguel River. Why not take a refreshing hike along the Stoner Mesa Trail, and after a long day outdoors Dunton Hot Springs is a splendid place to spend a night or two. During the warm days of summer, highs regularly are in the 90's at Mud Lake. During the dark hours of summer temperatures descend down into the 50's.
