It is very dried out here at Mud Lake typically; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest month is February. Go for a hike on the Jug Trail, and you can stay the night at Loveland RV Village Campground. And that's not all you can do here at Mud Lake. If you don't mind getting wet, you can always go whitewater paddling on Big Thompson River, and if you need a       location to stay Hilton Garden Inn Fort Collins is a fine choice. Cache La Poudre River has a glorious whitewater paddling spot nearby, and not far from Mud Lake you'll find Boyd Lake which is a beautiful lake. Going for a hike on the Round Mountain Trail is always a delightful adventure, and Mud Lake is a good place to camp, Boyd Lake is a good place. Duck Lake Dam is a scenic spot in close proximity to Mud Lake, and a great nearby hotel is Cambria Suites                  Fort Collins. This lake is so wonderful. If you're a golfer then a delightful nearby course is Ptarmigan Country Club; folks from Fort Collins-Loveland love to come here. At Mud Lake throughout the summer months highs are in the 80's, and throughout the night it cools down to the 50's. Highs through the winter are commonly in the 40's; nighttime lows at Mud Lake all through the winter frequently drop into the 10's.
