Not much rain falls here at Moore Basin Lake; October is when you get the most rain here, and the driest of the months is February. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Escalante Creek is so much fun. Lakes? Sure, Middle Reservoir is close at hand. You just can't envision the amount of outdoors amusing things the area right next door to Moore Basin Lake has to offer. Antone Spring Campground is a glorious local       campground, and Moore Basin Lake is not far at all from Montrose. During the warm days of summer at Moore Basin Lake highs are typically in the 90's. Once the sun is down it descends down to the 50's. Highs throughout the wintertime are regularly in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Moore Basin Lake are in the 10's. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a site to stay Southgate Inns is a great choice. That right there is lots of enjoyable things already                  but it goes on, the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has it all. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sundance, and Criswell Basin is a perfect spot here at Moore Basin Lake. You'll in fact wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the exciting things in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Don't leave Moore Basin Lake without first going for a hike along the Roubideau Trail, and get wet paddling on San Miguel River. This lake is located in the wonderful Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Not far from Moore Basin Lake, you'll hit upon Big Monitor Reservoir Number 2 which is a beautiful lake, and there are great places to look at along the Ben Lowe Trail.
