     Not enough hours in a day to enjoy this place. If you came to camp Ivy Creek Campground and Trailhead is a splendid place to do that, and get soaked paddling on Rio Grande. So many amusing things to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, not sufficient time. Take a hike on the Rainbow Trail, and whitewater paddling is great on Wolf Creek. This place, the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, has so much outdoors cool stuff. Monument Lake is not the only place nearby, Window  
   Lake is a nearby lake, and if you need a location to stay Fairfield Pagosa Resort is a tremendous choice.
This lake is so wonderful. The panorama of charming Palomino Mountain near Monument Lake is glorious; you can have a good hiking adventure along the Middle Creek Stock Driveway. At Monument Lake you don’t see much rain; during the month of July you get the most rain around here while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation.

               for something near Monument Lake? Upper Fourmile Lake is close by, and Monument Lake is right by the Turkey Lake Trail. This lake is so wonderful. Getting to Puerto Blanco Creek from Monument Lake is painless, and Whispering Pines Condominums is a tremendous place to get some rest. You can never get enough of the good skiing at Wolf Creek. There's so much to do here at Monument Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Middle Fork Hunter Campground is a great place for that.
Summertime highs at Monument Lake frequently tend to be in the 70's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 30's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's while Monument Lake nighttime low temperatures through the winter are in the-10's. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains.

I am a very close relative of the land owners for a significant portion of the East Fork. There is a couple of miles of river that is private land. Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. Please respect the property line and stay on public lands. Other than that enjoy your time in CO and happy rafting....

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...
