     The beauty of Monument Lake attracts many people from all around. Not much rain falls here at Monument Lake; the month with most of the rain is July; the driest of the months is June. Having a tremendous time in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains is uncomplicated. Wolf Creek is a great local ski area, and if you've had enough of Monument Lake, Upper Fourmile Lake is close by. Hiking along the Middle Creek Stock Driveway is good fun; a tremendous nearby hotel  
   is Oak Ridge Lodge.
All the outdoors fun things next to Monument Lake will keep you coming back again and again. You could also pop by Window Lake while you're here at Monument Lake; it's close by; Monument Lake is right by the Turkey Lake Trail. Throughout the summer months at Monument Lake temperatures are ordinarily in the 70's. For the period of the dark hours of summer temperatures drop down into the 30's. During the winter highs are usually in the
 
               20's while Monument Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime are in the-10's.
But wait, there's more exciting stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Palomino Mountain is clearly visible from Monument Lake; do take a hike on the Rainbow Trail. Monument Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. This lake is so wonderful. If you need a spot to stay Fairfield Pagosa Resort is a pleasant choice, and paddling on Rio Grande is so much fun.
This lake is so wonderful. Some of the water nearby flows, like Puerto Blanco Creek, and Middle Fork Hunter Campground is a great campground nearby. Monument Lake is a magnificent location to visit for more than one day, Ivy Creek Campground and Trailhead is a magnificent location to camp nearby, and whitewater paddling is tremendous on Wolf Creek.

Using the river or the land without authorization is tresspassing and is illegal. I am by no means giving you permission to use it. I am simply stating the facts. I am a guide on the San Juan here and wanted to correct the info about this run. The put in is behind a place called malt shoppe and the Lat/Long of it is: 37. 269902°, -107. 001559°

The take out after Mesa Canyon is where Trujillo Rd gets close to the river on R Left @ 37. 125988°, -107. 051072°

These are the closest Public put in & take out to the Lat/Long given on the site. Happy Raftin!...
