It's always fun to stop by Monument Lake. This lake is so wonderful. Puerto Blanco Creek is one of the streams close by that might be worth visiting, and after a long day outdoors Oak Ridge Lodge is a magnificent site to spend a night or two. You just can't imagine the amount of outdoors enjoyable things the San Juan and Jemez Mountains has to offer. You could also stop by Fourmile Lake since you're here at Monument Lake; it's nearby; there's whitewater on Wolf

| | Creek for all you adrenaline rush seekers. There is a pleasant hiking trail close to Monument Lake called the Turkey Lake Trail, and Ivy Creek Campground and Trailhead is a pleasant campground nearby. Get your pulse rate up on the delightful whitewater of Rio Grande; going for a hike on the Rainbow Trail is always a tremendous adventure. Hunter Campground is a great site to camp; Fairfield Pagosa Resort is a brilliant spot to get some rest. This lake is located in the wonderful San Juan and Jemez Mountains. At Monument Lake during the summer highs are in the 70's,
and the overnight is rather colder of course, ordinarily in the 30's. The cold days of the winter come with highs in the 20's, and overnight lows throughout the winter for Monument Lake tend to be in the-10's. There's just no way
someone can get bored here at Monument Lake. There are perfect sites to look at along the Middle Creek Stock Driveway, and at Monument Lake you can see Palomino Mountain. At Monument Lake you don’t see much rain; July is when you
get the most rain here, and the driest month of the year is June. This lake is so wonderful. A day on the slopes of Wolf Creek is just what you need.
