nice lake, easy to get to. Fits a couple of canoes. Some marshy area where people train their dogs. Fishing in 2007 was expected to be not the best due to the drought in 2004. We went twice in 2007, kids had a couple of bites, could see some people catching some smaller fish. Good lake for the ''I only have a few hours before the kids games'' kinda place.

The beauty of Monument Lake is reason enough to stop by. Not much rainfall falls here at Monument Lake; the month of May is the wettest with most of the rain, and the driest of the months is January. You'll need more than a day to discover everything Monument Lake has to offer, you can camp at Lake Of The Rockies Retreat, and if you need a place to stay Fairfield Inn & Suites Colorado Springs Monument is a great choice. Summertime highs at Monument Lake ordinarily

| | tend to be in the 80's. For the duration of the moonlight hours it's usually in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Monument Lake.
And if that's not enough there's a heap more amusing stuff to do in the Front Range. A wonderful close by hotel is National at Ridge Point Apartments, and a round of golf at nearby Gleneagle Golf Club is a glorious way to kill some time. Why not take a refreshing | |

hike along the Winding Stairs Trail; why not check out Monument Lake Dam since you're here. This lake is so wonderful. Crystal Creek is a stream that you may run into during your stay, and if you get bored of Monument Lake you could
also check out close by Palmer Lake.
This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Monument Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Colorado Heights Camping is a great spot for that, and the great people of Colorado
Springs like to hang out nearby. Monument Lake is a beautiful lake in the Front Range. Just can't get enough of Monument Lake. There's brilliant hiking along the Balanced Rock Trail, and some out of the ordinary geology is available
here, Elephant Rock Arch is right here.
So many enjoyable things to do at Monument Lake, so little time. Just can't get enough of the Front Range. The peak of Elephant Rock can be seen from Monument Lake, and the Stanley Canyon
Trail offers hiking at its best. A lake nearby is Palmer Lake Number 2, and a visit to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is worthwhile.
