Durango Yearround RV Park is a good campground nearby; a short spree to McCullogh Spring is always worthwhile. During the warmest time of the year here at Montoya Reservoir, high temperatures regularly reach the 80's. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. High temperatures during       the winter are normally in the 30's; all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Montoya Reservoir temperatures fall to the 0's. The slopes of Durango are so inviting noone can resist, and a great location nearby is Black Water Canyon. This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Super 8 Durango/Purgatory, and Montoya Reservoir is a glorious spot to visit for more than one day, Cotton wood RV Park is a glorious spot to camp nearby. This lake                  is so wonderful. The Highline Trail offers hiking at its best, and get your heart pumping on the brilliant whitewater of Animas River. There's just no way someone can get bored here at Montoya Reservoir. Gotta ski! Hesperus Ski Center is a brilliant spot to do that, and do take a hike on the Goodhope Stock Driveway. Lakes are splendid; Sullivan Reservoir is a lake that's near Montoya Reservoir, and if you need a spot to stay Comfort Inn & Suites Durango is a pleasant choice. It is very waterless here at Montoya Reservoir generally; August is the month that gets the most rain, and June meanwhile is the driest month.
