Hesperus Ski Center is a tremendous site to do that; if you need a location to stay Durango/Purgatory Super 8 Motel is a perfect choice. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at Montoya Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Durango Yearround RV Park is a pleasant location for that, and if you're here you can take a hike along the Highline       Loop Trail. On a tremendous day at Montoya Reservoir you can take a hike along the Goodhope Stock Driveway, and McCullogh Spring is an inspiring place to stop at while here. If you love the outdoors, you'll love Montoya Reservoir. This is a good region for people who like lakes. Goat Canyon Reservoir is a lake nearby; Montoya Reservoir is brilliant enough to spend more than a day at, Cotton wood RV Park is a brilliant local campground. The slopes of Durango                  are so inviting noone can resist, and a pleasant place is Black Water Canyon. At Montoya Reservoir through the days of summer highs are in the 80's. Once the sun is down it plunges down to the 40's. Daytime highs during the wintertime are in the 30's, and night lows in the 0's for Montoya Reservoir. At Montoya Reservoir you don’t see much rain; the wettest month of the year is generally August, that's the one that rains the most while June is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. There are plenty of people from Durango here at Montoya Reservoir, and a great nearby hotel is Comfort Inn & Suites.
