Summertime highs at Mix Lake generally tend to be in the 60's, and the overnight is a bit colder of course, usually in the 40's. This lake is so wonderful. Mix Lake is right by the Bear Lake Trail, and you'll locate a pretty lake called Platoro Reservoir. Mix Lake truly is in the middle of a picturesque outdoors paradise. Hiking is a popular thing to do around Mix Lake;                  Lake Fork Trail is a pleasant local trail; camping at Stunner Campground is always a great experience. Mix Lake is a wet place that gets a large amount of rainfall; of all the months in a year March is the one with the most snow while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. This lake is so wonderful. While staying at Mix Lake you could always discover Sawmill Gulch, and after a long day outdoors Allington Inn and Suites is a perfect place to spend a night or two. It's a great idea to stop at Alum Creek, it's near Mix Lake, and on a beautiful day you get a splendid panorama of Forest King Mountain from Mix Lake. All the outdoors amusing things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. While you're here at Mix Lake, you could also take a look at pretty Lilly Pond, and The Spruce Lodge is a magnificent place to get some rest.
