Alum Creek is a great local stream, and at Mix Lake you can make out Forest King Mountain. Take a hike on the Lake Fork Trail, and after a long day outdoors The Spruce Lodge is a delightful place to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. Mix Lake sees pretty high levels of rainfall; March is the wettest month with most snow while June is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Yeah,       come up here to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains for a great time. Dry warm beds await you at Allington Inn and Suites; while you're here you can take a hike along the Bear Lake Trail. During the summer months at Mix Lake temperatures are regularly in the 60's, and the nighttime is slightly colder of course, ordinarily in the 40's. High temperatures throughout the wintertime are normally in the 30's while Mix Lake overnight low temperatures during the wintertime                  are in the 0's. The San Juan and Jemez Mountains scenery is always beautiful. This lake is so wonderful. An out of the ordinary thing to visit in close proximity to Mix Lake is Platoro Dam, and you can stay the night at Stunner Campground. Be careful coming to the San Juan and Jemez Mountains, you might not ever wanna return home again. Mix Lake is a great site to visit for more than one day, Mix Lake Campground is a great site to camp nearby; since you're here why not have a look at Sawmill Gulch. Whohoo, so many fun things in one place! Mix Lake is peerless!
