Why not camp at Pawnee Campground while you're here at Mitchell Lake, and needless to say, this is a nice region for folks who like lakes, Long Lake is a lake close by. Best Western Lodge At Nederland is a wonderful spot to get some rest. At Mitchell Lake you don’t see much precipitation; the month with most of the rain is August, and the driest of the months       is February. This lake is one of the great places here in the Front Range. This lake is so wonderful. Hiking along the Blue Lake Trail is splendid fun, and if you like skiing, you're in luck; Winter Park is quite near. Just can't get enough of the Front Range. A day on the slopes of Berthoud Pass is just what you need, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Boulder Creek - South. And that's not all there is to do here in the Front Range. Have a great hiking                  adventure along the Mount Audubon Trail, and don't miss out on a visit to Rocky Mountain National Park since you're here. You absolutely must like Mitchell Lake. Soar down the rapids of Boulder Creek in a kayak; not far from Mitchell Lake you obtain some delightful water scenery at Long Lake Dam. From Mitchell Lake you obtain a tremendous view of Mount Audubon, and dry warm beds await you at Stone Mountain Lodge And Cabins. Throughout the summertime here at Mitchell Lake, high temperatures frequently reach the 70's. Once the sun is down it drops down to the 40's. The winter comes with highs in the 20's, and nighttime lows at Mitchell Lake through the wintertime generally drop into the 0's.
