Whitewater paddling is great on White River - South Fork, and after a long day outdoors Americas Best Value Inn - Glenwood Springs is a tremendous site to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. This is a glorious region for folks who like lakes. Shamrock Lake is a lake in the vicinity; why not take a refreshing hike along the Fayville Trail. Mirror Lake is a wonderful site to visit for more than one day, Marvine Creek Campground is a wonderful site

| | to camp nearby. Not much precipitation falls here at Mirror Lake; all through October this area sees the most rain; the driest month of the year is January.
High temperatures at Mirror Lake during the warmest time of the year are in the 80's. Summer overnight lows descend down to the 40's. Sable Point is an exciting place to check out while at Mirror Lake; there's fine hiking along the Oyster Lake Trail.

Jet lake is also located in the Flat Tops wilderness area so no vehicles allowed but is only about a 15 to 20 minute hike to the lake (an easy pretty flat hike) then about another 15 minute hike into shadow lake , about 15 mor into blair lake and about 15 more into crater lake.
Elk lakes are located about 5 minutes from the wilderness area only 1/2 mile to the parking for jet lakes....

located at the foot of Blair Mountain Adams Lake is well worth the trip. Definatly a 4 wheel drive Jeep Trail but only a few miles from Elk lakes, Jet lake, Shadow Lake, Blair lakes , Crater Lake, Deep lake and bison lake. Lots of Cut throat trout, rainbows and browns. Most deffinatly more than a one day trip. Always plan for all kinds of weather, and definitely tent camping only.... |

Meadow lake was my Dada Idea, there is a great campground, easy road up the flat tops wilderness area to get there great for a one day fishing trip or camping, lots of family reunions held there, Great place to take little ones, and all around beautiful area... |
