This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the Gunsight Trail, and hey, Gotta ski right? Monarch is a fine location to do that. the 20's with temperatures at Mill Lake dipping down into the-10's during winter nights. Not much precipitation falls here at Mill Lake; December is the month that gets the most snow, and the driest month is June.
This lake is
so wonderful. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Taylor River; close by you stumble on perfect places like Gunsight Pass. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the Sawatch Range will keep you coming back over and over. There's pleasant
hiking along the Onemile Trail, and you can stay the night at Gold Creek Campground.
The sight of Broncho Mountain from Mill Lake is lovely; why not explore close by Lamphier Creek since you're here at Mill Lake. A good nearby
hotel is Harmel's Ranch Resort, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Mill Lake; Gunsight Trail is a nice local trail.
