Man, is there a load of entertaining stuff to do in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. A lake close by is Twin Lakes, and you can run the rapids of Animas River. High temperatures at Middle Ute Lake during the summer are in the 70's, and                  the night is somewhat chillier of course, typically in the 40's. For the duration of the winter this place gets highs in the 30's, and all through the dark hours in the wintertime at Middle Ute Lake temperatures fall to the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. At Middle Ute Lake you can make out Buffalo Peak, and skiing at Kendall Mountain is one of those things you just should do. Middle Ute Lake is located in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. There's so much to do here at Middle Ute Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Vallecito Campground is a nice site for that, and Purgatory Village Condominium Hotel is a fine place to get some rest. This lake is so wonderful.
