Antone Spring Campground is a perfect local campground, and Middle Monitor Dam is a wonderful place, positively worth checking out. But wait, there's more to do in the vicinity of Middle Reservoir. Some close by water includes Little Monitor Creek, and going for a hike on the Cottonwood Trail is always a splendid adventure. The warmest time of the year brings       highs in the 90's to Middle Reservoir while nighttime lows are typically in the 50's. Through the wintertime highs are mostly in the 30's with winter lows in the 10's overnight here at Middle Reservoir. Dry warm beds await you at Rodeway Inn Delta; you'll meet a lot of folks from Montrose here. A beautiful lake like Lower Ed Lee Number 2 Reservoir right next door to Middle Reservoir is a nice place to take a look at, and close by you locate the Monitor Mesa                  Trail which is a magnificent hiking trail. There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Get yourself into a kayak and hit Escalante Creek, and after a long day outdoors Best Western Sundance is a good spot to spend a night or two. This lake is so wonderful. There are some good whitewater spots on San Miguel River, and why not camp at Smokehouse Campground if you're here at Middle Reservoir. You'll find a lovely lake called Big Monitor Reservoir Number 2 near Middle Reservoir; there are great places to explore along the Moore Mesa Trail.
