Camping at Middle Reservoir is great fun, Antone Spring Campground is a great local campground, and in case you don’t have a problem getting soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Miguel River. Middle Reservoir is usually a rather dried up spot; October is when you get the most rain here while February is commonly the driest month. This lake is so wonderful. Good hiking is available along the       Monitor Mesa Trail. This lake is so wonderful. A beautiful lake like Big Monitor Reservoir Number 1 near Middle Reservoir is a nice site to stop at, and Westways Court is a wonderful place to get some rest. For the period of the summertime highs here at Middle Reservoir reach the 90's, and through summer nights temperatures are in the 50's. For the period of the wintertime this place gets highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Middle Reservoir                  are in the 10's. There's just no way anybody can get bored here at Middle Reservoir. Why not camp at Smokehouse Campground since you're here at Middle Reservoir; there's good hiking along the Cottonwood Trail. So much enjoyable stuff to do here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, too good to be true. Escalante Creek is a perfect whitewater spot next to Middle Reservoir, and hiking is a popular thing to do around Middle Reservoir; Moore Mesa Trail is a magnificent local trail. Man, is there lots of enjoyable stuff to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. An interesting thing to go to next to Middle Reservoir is Middle Monitor Dam, and folks from Montrose love to come here. Dry warm beds await you at Best Western Sundance, and some close by water includes Little Monitor Creek.
