There's no way anybody can get bored here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. There are magnificent sites to look at along the Cottonwood Trail. There's so much to do here at Middle Monitor Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Antone Spring Campground is a delightful place for that, and you'll most likely meet some people from Montrose here. This lake is so wonderful.       Don't leave Middle Monitor Reservoir without first going for a hike along the Moore Mesa Trail, and there's always Middle Monitor Dam to have a look at in close proximity to Middle Monitor Reservoir. Life's too short to enjoy all the exciting stuff in the vicinity of Middle Monitor Reservoir. Get covered with water paddling on Escalante Creek; going for a hike on the Monitor Mesa Trail is always a pleasant adventure. So many amusing things to do in the                  Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains, not enough time. Stay the night at Smokehouse Campground, and get yourself into a kayak and hit San Miguel River. All through the summer months at Middle Monitor Reservoir highs are frequently in the 90's with nighttime lows in the 50's. The wintertime comes with highs in the 30's while the cold winter nights at Middle Monitor Reservoir are in the 10's. This lake is one of the great places here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains.
