Summertime at Middle Lake arrives with high temperatures in the 60's. For the duration of the dark hours of summer temperatures plunge down into the 40's. For the duration of the winter highs are in the 30's while Middle Lake overnight low temperatures during the winter are in the 0's. Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the       San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Going for a hike along the Red Lake Trail will let you absorb the natural beauty of this vicinity, and Best Western Jicarilla Inn & Casino is a great place to get some rest. This lake is one of the great places here in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains. Hiking along the Elk Creek Trail is wonderful fun, and a fine nearby hotel is Branding Iron Motel. You feel that's enough? Just getting warmed up. Whitewater paddling is good                  on Rio Chama, as expected you could also explore Lower Lake while you're here; it's not far at all. This lake is so wonderful. Paddling on Conejos River is so much fun, and if you came to camp Trujillo Meadows Campground is a great place to do that. A lake close by is Cox Lakes. There's so much to do here at Middle Lake that you need to camp here for a while, El Vado Lake Camping Resort is a fine spot for that. All the outdoors enjoyable things in the San Juan and Jemez Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly.
