Do visit Beaver Lakes close to Middle Lake, it's a pretty lake, and there are some good whitewater spots on Conejos River. Middle Lake gets a lot of water; all through the month of March you get the most snow around here, and June is when it's the driest. Summertime highs at Middle Lake commonly tend to be in the       60's with nighttime lows in the 40's. For the duration of the wintertime highs are usually in the 30's, and winter nights come with lows in the 0's to Middle Lake. If you need a location to stay Foster Hotel Bar Restaurant is a great choice, and you can stay the night at El Vado Lake Camping Resort. This lake is so wonderful. The Elk Creek Trail is a good hiking trail close to Middle Lake. There's so much to do here at Middle Lake that you need to camp                  here for a while, Trujillo Meadows Campground is a tremendous spot for that. You'll beyond doubt wish for more hours in a day to enjoy all the amusing stuff in the San Juan Mountains. Near Middle Lake you discover the Red Lake Trail which is a great hiking trail, and get yourself into a kayak and hit Rio Chama. If the weather is magnificent here at Middle Lake, you can go for a hike along the La Manga Stock Driveway; a pleasant nearby hotel is Hotel & Shops. The San Juan Mountains scenery is always beautiful.
