     You'll need more than a day to look at everything Middle Alta Lake has to offer, you can camp at Riverwood Inn and RV Park; a round of golf at nearby Telluride Ski & Golf Club is a delightful way to kill some time. Yep, outdoors fun things to do are in fact bountiful here at Middle Alta Lake. Dry warm beds await you at Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge, and Telluride is a very popular ski area around here. You just have to like Middle Alta Lake. Head up to Silverton  
   and strap some skis to your feet, and Spring Gulch is another great place to stop by close by.
This lake is so wonderful. Stay the night at Sunshine Campground, and don't leave Middle Alta Lake without first going for a hike along the Deep Creek Trail. You can run the rapids of San Miguel River right next door to Middle Alta Lake, and Bald Mountain is clearly visible from Middle Alta Lake. This lake is located in the wonderful Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains.
 
               At Middle Alta Lake during the summer highs are in the 80's. Summer nighttime lows dip down to the 40's. For the duration of the winter the highs are commonly in the 30's, and night lows in the 0's for Middle Alta Lake. At Middle Alta Lake you don’t see much rainfall; through July this area sees the most rain, and June is when it's the driest. Having a tremendous time in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains is trouble-free. Capella Telluride is a tremendous place to get some rest, and Gold King Basin is a great place to stretch your legs a bit.
You just can't envision the amount of outdoors exciting things the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains has to offer. The Lizard Head Trail offers hiking at its best, and the scenery at Middle Alta Lake Dam is delightful. There's great hiking along the Sheep Trail; why not visit close by Waterfall Creek since you're here at Middle Alta Lake. This lake is so wonderful.
This lake is so wonderful. Ophir Needles is something you shouldn't miss since you're here at Middle Alta Lake, and a striking lake like Alta Lakes is a pleasant location to stop at. But wait, there's more cool things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. Mineral Creek - South is a magnificent whitewater spot near Middle Alta Lake, and do stop by Alta Reservoir Number 3, it's a beautiful lake.
