Once the sun is down it descends down to the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's, and overnight lows in the 0's for Mesa Reservoir Number 1.
Take a little journey to Bear Creek while you're here at Mesa Reservoir Number 1, and there are perfect places to explore along the Penrose Trail. | |

This lake is so wonderful. Goldfield RV Campground is a brilliant local campground; Mesa Reservoir Number 1 is not the only place nearby, Highline Reservoir is a nearby lake.
Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument is a glorious
place in the neighborhood of Mesa Reservoir Number 1, of course you could also go to Valley Reservoir Number 2 since you're here; it's not far at all. This is a popular location for folks from Colorado Springs; you can go for a hike
on the Palmer Trail. Mesa Reservoir Number 1 is a location that is quite dried up typically; during the month of July you get the most rain around here while January is typically the driest month.
You don’t have to go far from
Mesa Reservoir Number 1 to see the water at Highline Dam; if you need a spot to stay Clarion Hotel Colorado Springs is a good choice.
