If you haven’t been to Florissant Fossil Beds National Monument, you ought to schedule some time for it while you're here; hiking is a popular thing to do around Mesa Number 1 Reservoir; Palmer Trail is a great local trail. 1 Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Northwoods Village RV Park; a good spot close by is Woodmen Valley.
