This lake is so wonderful. Dry warm beds await you at Oak Tree Inn Yampa. McMillan Lake is pretty dried out mostly; the month of March is the wettest with most of the snow, and the driest month is June. If you come at the right time of year, Colorado River offers some glorious whitewater, and places like Stump Park are great to       visit. Summertime highs at McMillan Lake generally tend to be in the 80's, and during the night it cools down to the 40's. For the period of the winter highs are in the 20's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at McMillan Lake. This lake is so wonderful. A quick tour to Middle Fork Derby Creek in the neighborhood of McMillan Lake is a tremendous idea, and if you came to camp Sweetwater Lake Campground is a good site to do that. Have a great hiking                  adventure along the South Derby Trail, and if you need a place to stay Holiday Inn Express EAGLE is a pleasant choice. While you're here at McMillan Lake you can take a hike along the Ute Trail, and a beautiful lake like Emerald Lake is a great site to have a look at. So many fun things to do here at McMillan Lake, too pleasant to be true.
