Good hiking is available along the High Trail; a delightful spot like Stump Park here at McMillan Lake is too great to miss. Visit Middle Fork Derby Creek since you're here at McMillan Lake; dry warm beds await you at Holiday Inn Express Eagle, Co. Summer brings highs in the 80's to McMillan Lake. Through the dark hours of summer temperatures dip down into the 40's. Highs during the       winter are mostly in the 20's; nighttime lows at McMillan Lake through the wintertime ordinarily dip into the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Don't leave McMillan Lake without first going for a hike along the Ute Trail. There's so much to do here at McMillan Lake that you need to camp here for a while, Bucks Campground is a splendid place for that. This spot is so good, just look at all the cool things to do close to McMillan Lake. If you come at the right                  time of year, Sweetwater Creek offers some good whitewater, and of course, this is a pleasant vicinity for folks who like lakes, Road Lake is a lake in close proximity. Whitewater paddling is not for everybody but if it's for you then we recommend Colorado River; you can stay the night at Sweetwater Lake Campground. This lake is so wonderful. There are magnificent locations to discover along the South Derby Trail, and Oak Tree Inn Yampa is a nice site to get some rest.
