     This lake is one of the great places here in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. These mountains rock, just explore all the amusing things to do in the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. If you need a place to stay Fairmont Franz Klammer Lodge is a great choice, and a fine place for whitewater paddling is San Miguel River.
McKeever Reservoir gets very little precipitation; of all the months in a year July is the one with the most rain while February is the month
 
   with the least amount of precipitation. You definitely must adore McKeever Reservoir. There is a delightful hiking trail close to McKeever Reservoir called the Horsefly Trail; you're probably keen on lakes, Cartwheel Reservoir is one of those close by. This lake is so wonderful. There's so much to do here at McKeever Reservoir that you need to camp here for a while, Antone Spring Campground is a nice place for that, and in the event that you don't mind getting  
               soaked, you can always go whitewater paddling on San Miguel River.
Some of the water nearby flows, like North Creek, and you'll perhaps meet some people from Montrose here. Summertime highs at McKeever Reservoir commonly tend to be in the 80's with night lows in the 40's. Daytime highs through the winter are in the 30's while McKeever Reservoir nighttime low temperatures during the wintertime are in the 0's. This lake is so wonderful. Going for a hike on the Dry Creek Trail is always a great adventure; there are delightful places to explore along the Paradox Road.
A tour to McKeever Reservoir wouldn't be complete without taking a look at Saint Joe Spring; a great place to pop by is Saint Joe Draw. You simply have to go for the Uncompahgre Plateau Mountains. You'll need more than a day to explore everything McKeever Reservoir has to offer, you can camp at Iron Spring Campground; probably you're looking for close by lakes? Sure, Goat Pen Reservoir is just a very short distance away.
