Not enough hours in a day to enjoy the Sangre De Cristo Mountains. If you need a place to stay Knights Inn Walsenburg is a great choice, and McEvoy Lakes is delightful enough to spend more than a day at, Circle The wagons RV Park is a delightful local campground. This lake is so wonderful. Playing golf is lots of fun at Grandote Peaks Golf Course, and you can never get enough of the wonderful skiing at Eldora. The Black Hills Trail is a magnificent hiking

| | trail right next door to McEvoy Lakes. Lakes? Sure, J O Smith and Sons Reservoir is close at hand. It is very waterless here at McEvoy Lakes usually; August is the wettest month with most rain, and the driest of the months is January. There are other sites here than McEvoy Lakes, for example Daigre Reservoir, and nearby you locate the Apishapa Trail which is a delightful hiking trail. This lake is so wonderful. at McEvoy Lakes highs are usually in the 80's. During the moonlight hours it's ordinarily in the 50's. During the wintertime the highs are generally in the 30's; night lows in the 0's for McEvoy Lakes. This lake is located in the
wonderful Sangre De Cristo Mountains. So much exciting stuff to do at McEvoy Lakes, so little time. Camping at Bearadise Cabins and RV Park is always a good experience; on a perfect day you can take a hike along the Wahatoya Trail.
All the outdoors exciting stuff in the Sangre De Cristo Mountains will keep you coming back repeatedly. Best Western Rambler is a perfect location to get some rest, and it's a nice idea to check out Wahatoya Creek.
