High temperatures at McDonald Reservoir through the summertime are in the 90's, and during summer nights temperatures are in the 60's. All through the winter highs are usually in the 30's with temperatures at McDonald Reservoir dipping down into the 10's during winter nights. Around McDonald Reservoir you don’t get       a lot of rainfall; during October this area sees the most rain while February is the month with the least amount of precipitation. Hiking along the Whitewater Basin Trail is tremendous fun; since you're here, you could also take a look at picturesque Reeder Reservoir. Camping at Rv Ranch Grand Junction is always a nice experience; you'll never forgive yourself if you don’t go skiing at Powderhorn since you're here. McDonald Reservoir is pleasant enough to                  spend more than a day at, Grand Junction/Clifton Campground is a pleasant local campground, and whitewater paddling is good on Kannah Creek.
