There's so much to do here at McDonald Reservoir that you need to camp here       for a while, Monument Lake Resort is a magnificent site for that. Lakes are such calm places, why not visit Primero Reservoir in the neighborhood of McDonald Reservoir, and beautiful scenery and wonderful skiing is what you acquire at Eldora. This lake is so wonderful. From McDonald Reservoir you obtain a great sight of The Island; McDonald Reservoir is right by the Apishapa Trail. If you came to camp Potato Patch Campground is a good site to do that, and the                  Wahatoya Trail offers hiking at its best. Throughout the warm days of summer highs here at McDonald Reservoir get into the 80's, and the night is quite colder of course, ordinarily in the 50's. The cold days of the wintertime come with highs in the 40's with winter lows in the 0's overnight here at McDonald Reservoir.
