Do stop by McCabe Reservoir while you're in this part of Colorado. Camping at McCabe Reservoir is splendid fun, Target Tree Campground is a splendid local campground, and Hesperus Ski Center is a good local ski area. This lake is so wonderful. Take a hike on the Morrison Trail. McCabe Reservoir is commonly a rather dried out site; throughout the month of March you get the most snow around here; June on the other hand is the driest.

| | Hiking is a popular thing to do around McCabe Reservoir; Chicken Creek Trail is a good local trail, and Transfer Campground is a pleasant campground here. During the warm days of summer, highs mostly are in the 70's at McCabe Reservoir while night lows are usually in the 30's. you can always go whitewater paddling on Dolores River, unsurprisingly you could also take a look at Cliff Lake since you're here; it's not far at all.
Why not take a refreshing hike along the Gold Run Trail, and if you need a
spot to stay Dunton Hot Springs is a perfect choice. Visiting Mesa Verde National Park is just something you need to do if you haven't yet, and Hells Hole is a glorious spot to pop by while in the neighborhood. What a spot this is
for outdoors folks. After a long day outdoors Echo Basin Dude And Guest Ranch, LLC is a great site to spend a night or two, and Horse Creek is close to McCabe Reservoir and is always a diversion to check out.
